The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2013 and present with an intake of 60 seats.

The Department is rated as one of the best departments in the private sector and is attracting top rankers in Polycet. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty which also includes advanced facilities like LCD projectors for effective teaching.

SCOPE OF THE DEPARTMENTThe graduates from this department have become professional engineers, employed both in core and software companies. They are well represented at core companies, such as Robert Bosch, Qualcomm, Aricent Group, Wipro and as well as smaller start-up companies. They have become successful software developers and managers in the leading software companies, such as Thought works, Infosys, Cognizant Technology Solutions, HCL Technologies, TCS, Igate etc.

About Head of the Department

Mr. Allugunti Karunakar is serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sri Sai Institute of Technology and Science, Rayachoty, Annamayya District, Andhra Pradesh. He joined the institution on 14th June 2017 and has contributed significantly to academics and administration with over 16 years of teaching experience.

He holds an M.Tech in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems (DECS) and is pursuing his Ph.D at Jawaharlal Technological University, Ananthapuramu in the Stream of Quantum Communications. His areas of expertise include Antennas and Wave Propagation, Antenna and Micro Engineering (AME), and Principles of Communication Systems (POCS). He has a strong interest in teaching courses such as Microwave Engineering, Linear and Digital IC Applications, Digital Electronics, IoT, and Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BEEE).

Mr. Karunakar has published eighteen research articles in reputed National and International Journals, along with five conference papers (two National and three International). He has actively participated in 13 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and 5 Webinars, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

He was ratified as an Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering by JNTUA, Ananthapuramu, in the year 2019.

Beyond academics, he has taken up several key responsibilities, including serving as an NSS Officer for more than eight yearsUG/PG Project CoordinatorIn-charge HODBCDE and ATAL Tinkering College-level Coordinator, and NAAC 3.4.3 Criteria In-charge.

With his dedication to teaching, research, and institutional development, Mr. Karunakar continues to inspire students and colleagues alike in the pursuit of academic excellence and innovation.
