Objectives

Promote Innovation Culture: Systematically encourage creative thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for innovation among students, faculty, and staff.

Develop Entrepreneurial Skills: Equip individuals with skills for start-ups through training, bootcamps, hackathons, and competitions (Ideathons).

Support Startups & Incubation: Provide a structured ecosystem for pre-incubation, incubation, and acceleration, helping turn ideas into Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).

Bridge Academia & Industry: Strengthen linkages with industry, R&D labs, and investors for knowledge sharing, commercialization, and experiential learning.

Facilitate IP & Technology Transfer: Raise awareness and support for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the commercialization of research.

Showcase & Reward Innovation: Create platforms to display innovative projects and recognize successful innovators and start-ups. 

 

Functions of an IIC:

Promote Innovation: Create a campus-wide culture of innovation through diverse events and initiatives.

Activity Implementation: Conduct prescribed innovation & entrepreneurship activities within set timelines.

Idea Generation & Scouting: Establish systems to find and nurture new ideas from students and faculty.

Mentorship & Networking: Organize seminars with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals to build a mentor pool.

Startup Support: Support pre-incubation and incubation for student-led ventures.

IPR & Design Thinking: Provide training and awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and design thinking.

Innovation Portal: Maintain an online platform to showcase institutional projects and successes.

Competitions: Organize hackathons, idea challenges, and mini-challenges, often with industry participation.

Reward & Recognition: Identify and celebrate innovative projects and share success stories.

Ecosystem Building: Connect with other institutions and national organizations for collaboration.
