Humanities and Basic Sciences Department is the soul of the college. The Department was established in the Academic year 2001-2002 to teach various disciplines of U.G and P.G courses. The department has highly qualified and well experienced faculty who hold the highest educational qualifications. For instance, two professors are Ph. D holders, five professors are M. Phil holders and three are M. Tech holders etc.
The Humanities Department provides effective communication skills to all students irrespective of disciplines to enhance their communication skills and caliber to compete in the corporate world. The department organizes different services which includes programs like N.S.S program —services where students visit rural areas to perform acts of social service.

Dr. N. Nagendra is working as a Professor & HOD, Department of Humanities and Sciences at Sri Sai Institute of Technology and Science, Rayachoti. He taught different subjects in Mathematics at UG and PG level. He guided one student in Ph.D level. He has over 16 years of teaching experience including 10 years of research experience. He published 36 research papers in reputed journals (SCI and SCOPUS) and 2 Books in LAP- LAMBERT Academic Publishing also presented 7 papers in International and National conferences. He also attended more than 60 workshops, FDPs and Webinars. His research area of interest is Peristaltic Transport in fluid flows and Boundary layer theory. His Google Scholar citations 318, h-index and i10-index are 12. The link given below.
